Recently, after a post exposing OKX was published, I unexpectedly gained over a thousand new followers. Taking this opportunity, I would like to share my insights on stock investment.
First of all, I adhere to a long-term investment philosophy because short-term market fluctuations are difficult to predict.
Last year, I primarily invested in Xiaomi stocks, with a total increase of nearly two times. Although such returns cannot be compared to leverage in the cryptocurrency space, they are relatively stable for larger funds. Part of the investment was made through the Futu platform, while another part was through the domestic Hong Kong Stock Connect.
The Logic Behind Investing in Xiaomi#
I chose to invest in Xiaomi based on the following logic:
- Xiaomi's ecosystem of smart devices has a monopoly advantage. Globally, few companies can cover such a wide range of categories as Xiaomi, and most households own its products.
- Xiaomi's automotive division will become the core driver of performance growth. I believe Xiaomi has the potential to become the Chinese version of Samsung, transforming from a mobile phone manufacturer into an industrial giant, with significant potential in its software and hardware integration capabilities.
The Logic Behind Investing in JD.com#
Next, I plan to allocate part of my position in JD.com for the following reasons:
- JD.com is about to issue a stablecoin. I am optimistic about its prospects. Analyzing Liu Qiangdong's personal background, as a former programmer, he has a deep understanding of blockchain and the determination to drive the company's development. A company needs core figures to lead the overall direction, rather than just a board of directors pursuing short-term profits. Although Alibaba, JD.com, and several banks have obtained the first batch of licenses, the biggest application scenario for Hong Kong stablecoins lies in cross-border trade and retail payments, where JD.com and Alibaba have rich experience (Alibaba is also worth a small investment).
- The current price-to-earnings ratio is only about 8 times.
- If the takeaway and retail business succeeds, the market potential is enormous.
