1. Grassroots Counterattack:#
I was born in the mid-1990s in the deep mountains of northern Guizhou, in a poor family with nothing but bare walls, often going hungry and inadequately clothed. As a left-behind child, I only completed my primary education and dropped out of middle school, starting to work at the age of 13. Initially, I worked as a child laborer in Jinhua, Zhejiang, and later became a small-time gangster in the county, nicknamed "Little Guizhou." I frequented the police station as if it were home and even had a fling with the owner of a small shop, living a muddled life, getting by day by day. By chance, with the help of the parents of a local gangster, I was admitted to the Music Department of Zhejiang Art College, but due to my bad habits and frequent fights, I was eventually expelled. After that, I wandered across the country, visiting places like Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen, sleeping under bridges, living in caves, and barely surviving on leftover food from roadside stalls and the charity of a prostitute.
2. The Storm in the Crypto World:#
In 2013, I took over a bar on a famous garbage street in Hangzhou, where I met a customer who became my benefactor, leading me into the crypto world. At BTCC exchange, I bought my first Bitcoin. In 2014, I sold the bar and then worked full-time investing in and managing the daily operations of a mining farm; my iconic profile picture was taken during that period, where I am carrying a bag of mining machine parts. In 2016, I created a mining machine trading group. From 2017 to 2018, I reached the peak of my life, leveraging my youthful appearance (I was indeed handsome at the time) and adventurous spirit to secure a stable supply source from a woman in her thirties, achieving my first small goal. Subsequently, I shifted to popular computing power platforms and made tens of millions through "betting" agreements. In trading cryptocurrencies, I was repeatedly successful, investing in dot, uni, Pangu, okex happy beans, Luna, and advertising projects, with each operation widely known and yielding rich rewards. Despite my Weibo account being banned multiple times, I managed to accumulate tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand followers each time.
3. Fall and Reflection: From Billions to Tens of Millions in Debt#
After moving to Twitter, I spent thousands of Ethereum, bottoming out 40 Bored Ape NFTs around 100 ETH. Later, I heavily invested in inscription projects with hundreds of Bitcoins, especially Quark, as well as on-chain meme coins like Dogecoin and Trump Coin, only to be continuously cut down. After Trump took office, I went long on Dogecoin at around 0.3, resulting in a liquidation loss of tens of millions of Dogecoins. On Binance, I purchased over two hundred altcoins, investing anywhere from $5,000 to hundreds of thousands of dollars in each. The disputes between Musk and Trump, along with conflicts in Iran and Israel, led to further liquidations, costing me two to three million dollars. Now, I am left with some Bitcoins and 18 million RMB in bank debt (with a repayment of 3 million scheduled for tomorrow). From a net worth of billions to a debt of 15 million, it only took two short years.
4. Awaiting Rebirth:#
Has my crypto career ended? No, it’s just a temporary "rest." As a first-generation "dog skin plaster" in China's crypto circle, I have experienced glory and also fallen. The biggest mistake? Not exiting the circle promptly after the "café incident." Now, I still have my assets, resources, and experience, just waiting for the opportunity to go long after the market drops. Looking back on over thirty years of life, with more than a decade of ups and downs in the crypto world, intertwined with bitterness and madness. I, Xia Xueyi, a rural cowherd with only a primary school education, started from the dust but reached today through Bitcoin. Even if I lose everything now, what remains is still beyond what I once dared to imagine. What more could I possibly want? What right do I have to complain about fate? I am already the luckiest person in the world, achieving a success that is hard to replicate for someone from that class. Therefore, I have always claimed that I am the person who has achieved the greatest success in China through Bitcoin, without exception! Indeed, there are many people richer than me, but none are as famous. Those who are more famous and richer than me, who doesn’t have a higher starting point than I do? If they were placed at the same starting point as me, would anyone stand out? Thus, my mindset has always been very calm; despite the wild ups and downs, I accept everything that happens. Contentment brings happiness; my two children are named Zhihao and Lezhi. This is my story, far from over.
