In the past couple of days, I published a post exposing OKX, unexpectedly gaining over a thousand followers. Taking this opportunity, I would like to share my stock investment experience. I have always adhered to a long-term investment philosophy because short-term market fluctuations are difficult to predict.
Last year, I mainly invested in Xiaomi stocks, with a total increase of nearly double. Although this return cannot be compared to leveraged trading in the crypto space, it is more stable for larger funds. I directly purchased a portion through the Futu platform, while another portion was traded through the domestic Hong Kong Stock Connect channel.
The Logic of Investing in Xiaomi#
I chose to invest in Xiaomi based on the following reasons:
- Xiaomi's ecosystem in smart devices has a monopolistic advantage. Globally, few companies can cover such a rich variety of categories like Xiaomi. Most households own some Xiaomi products.
- Xiaomi's automotive venture will become the core driver of performance growth. I believe Xiaomi has the potential to become China's Samsung, transforming from a mobile phone manufacturer into an industrial giant, with great potential in its hardware and software integration capabilities.
The Logic of Investing in JD.com#
Next, I plan to allocate some positions in JD.com for the following reasons:
- JD.com is about to issue a stablecoin. I am optimistic about its prospects. Analyzing Liu Qiangdong's personal background, as a former programmer, he has a deep understanding of blockchain technology and the determination to grow the company. The company needs a core figure to lead the overall strategy, rather than just pursuing short-term profits from the board.
Although Alibaba, JD.com, and several banks have obtained the first batch of licenses, the biggest application scenario for Hong Kong stablecoins lies in cross-border trade and retail payments. Alibaba and JD.com have rich experience in this area (Alibaba is also worth considering). - The current price-to-earnings ratio is only about 8 times.
- If the takeaway and retail business succeeds, it will bring huge market space.
